The Round Up Club is open to everyone of all ages and we have a vast variety of activities such as team penning, play days, parade participation, trail rides, barrel races, jackpots, rodeos and more to offer.

Everyone is encouraged to attend our monthly meetings held at the RUC Arena at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month during the Spring/Summer and at the Case Community Center during the Fall/Winter!  This is a great way to voice your opinions and suggestions.  Member participation is highly encouraged!

RUC History
By: Phyllis Chism

The original RUC was northwest of Sand Springs on Shell Creek Road.  In the early '70s, the City Manager of Sand Springs, Royce Hunter, was instrumental in getting the club moved into River City Park. The very first event was in 1971 - a junior rodeo in the park using panels.  The stock consisted of bucking shetland ponies provided by Terry Ford.

The men who were responsible for the design and construction of the arena, in it's current location, were all local volunteers; Russell Bartling, Dub Carr, Elzie Clemons, Corky Davidson, Robert Lawley, Tommy Lawley, Bobby Ragsdale, and Marion "Red" Shook.  In 1978 Red Shook was killed in an industrial accident at the steel mill.  In 1979 the club named the Memorial weekend rodeo in his honor.   In later years the rodeo was renamed in honor of Andy Downs, a member killed in an auto accident.
